Hello everyone. Forgive me if my vocabulary is off but I am very new to coin collecting and am still learning! I saw a post on here about this coin but I still don’t know if it’s worth anything. My coin, however, has an additional error on the front. Struck through grease perhaps?

I don't know what you mean by double beard but then again, I am not that great at error coins either lol. I definitely think it was struck through grease though.

First, welcome to CT. A few things are going on here. On the reverse you can see lightness in STATES OF. This is a weak spot in the design. In the obverse, yes it's a grease or debris filled Die, that's why the weakness. Notice the rim. The left side of the coin is thin along the rim while the right side is extra wide, to the point of having 2 rims. This is called a MAD or a misaligned die strike. All of these things are normal and worth face value only. It would be good to keep as a reference or as a training coin. The double beard is slight andbit one of the many forms of NAV or no added value doubling. This happens when the Die begins to wear down.

So if “States of” is a weak spot in the design, is that why that area often appears worn on other Lincoln pennies?

"States of" is a common area for weakness on LMC due to the design features of the obverse.

@Collecting Nut summed this one up quite nice. I would only add that it is a nice coin to build a collection from so you can have a physical example that represents some of these minor mint issues. I’ll forewarn you though.... Coin collecting is horribly addicting!

Addicting you say? So that's my problem. Every time I buy a coin it's not enough. I have to have another one, then another. I've filled albums with coins. I've completed set of coins and it's still not enough. There everywhere. Lol
