1980 Lincoln Penny error or post mint damage?

    Hello. I’m new here and still learning so your expertise is much appreciated! I found, what appears to be, a heavily damaged 1980 Penny but the sloppy formation of letters had me wondering if it was an error coin. My boyfriend did a google search and saw that there is a 1980-D Penny that looks very similar. I don’t see evidence m of a D under the date but I suppose it’s possible. Any info would be very helpful!

    What's it worth? 1 Cent. Only if a store would accept it. A CoinStar machine would actually reject it.

    Suggestion.. Create any future threads over at the Error Coins forum here on CoinTalk. First worry about what you have. Value is the last thing to be concerned about.
