How about a clear photo of Liberty.
It's interesting, but it is hard to rule out early stages of die deterioration with out seeing it in hand.

I'm on the fence too. A full shot of the obverse with diffused lighting would help. As would a better shot of Liberty and the date. It appears like you are trying to photograph through a loop, but that could distort the devices unintentionally.

I'm going to say the moto is DDO (from the pics provided), but the date is MD.

Welcome to CT BTW. The lighting on your photographs cast the light so it's hard for me to really see it.

Ty for your help I'm still in the green stage, I've been hunting cents so I'm not familiar with the nickels at all

I'm using a macro lens on my phone, I have a galaxy 20 ultra note, the up close pics are very blocky, without the lens, I apologize I can't get very good pics.ty for the tip, I will definitely try to get better pics some how.

welcome to CT. the pictures are great. you may be trying to hard to get that perfect picture. i see what your pointing at in the 2020 date. i see MD on the date and at the bottom of the mint mark "D" and IN GOD WE TRUST is interesting. i am in no way a expert but i do think the other guys who have replied are. you came to the right place. good luck

Try for better lighting first, your phone cam works good.

I agree there is some MD, but also agree to the interesting areas that better pics would reveal. Being a 2020 coin, you may be the first to find this variety, although, I am perplexed as to notching resulting from single squeeze process. I suppose a working die could have produced the variety, but a more knowledgable member needs to chime in...imo...Spark

Trey...much better lighting...TY. But I ‘m leaning toward die deterioration at this point, or I would want to scope it in hand.

Business strike dies are notoriously overused, firstly, and in hand, I would use small pen light sources to eliminate glare, to confirm suspected doubling (not the MD)...jmho...Spark
