Is $17 a good price for a 1923 peace dollar in MS62? I saw one at the coin shop today and had the guy put it on hold for me.

    Yeah, that's not too bad.

That said, you can afford to be picky about these coins, so be sure that the coin has no hidden problems (spots, scratches, hairlines, etc.) and is attractive (to you) in-hand.

    All IMHO...Mike

My dealer sells them in his "junk" silver pile for $16. He had a few hundred of them today.

I say if you like the coin for its own qualities, and can spare the dough, grab that sucker.

I think any time you can pick up an uncirculated silver dollar for that price, it's a good deal.

IMO that's a good price IF it's graded by a major TPG.
MS coins below MS-63 have a significant problem. That's how they got that grade.
So you have to decide if its overall look is satisfactory to you.
    Some MS-62's can be acceptable.

My 1921 Peace dollar is an MS-62 and that's good enough, at least for the foreseeable future.

No it actually just has scattered bag marks, but it's between 62-63.

I think that is a good price for a Mint State Peace Dollar.

If you are confident in the grade AND the coin is acceptable to you, go for it.
    It's a good price.
The greysheet has a MS-60 priced at $17.50.

alright. I was going to buy it regardless because I don't have a 1923 peace yet, but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't getting ripped off.
