    Hey everyone,

I am wondering if anyone with knowledge of Seated Liberty Dollars knows if there are any common date/mint ones I can buy in MS60+ condition for a reasonable (under $800) price?

Or do all the MS Seated Liberty Dollars in MS condition cost a fortune?

Nah I don’t really like problem coins. I do a lot of coin trading and cleaned/damaged coins are just too hard to trade or sell in the future.

Ive done some checking on HA but haven’t had any luck yet.

I was just hoping maybe someone else with more knowledge on SLDs could help direct me to any potential dates/mints to look for as cheaper dates/mints rather than like Carson City mints that cost insane amounts of money.

That’s the problem I don’t know what the common dates are so I don’t know what to look for.

I need to pick up one of those Red Books but I was just hoping someone could tell me some dates & mintmarks are common so I know what to look for.

Also I don’t buy stuff on Ebay.

Yeah I just ordered the MEGA Red Book on Amazon.

If it was Morgan Dollars it would be easy. Everyone knows you can get a really cheap MS 1921 Morgan Dollar compared to the rarer dates.

From what I can find.... you’ll have to come down to a problem free AU50 to get under $800.

The least expensive dates are 1859-O and 1860-O. They came from the Treasury hoards that were released in the early 1960s. The coins are usually white with very little color, and they are lower grade Mint State pieces.

They are not cheap. You are going to pay at least $2,000+. With patience you can AU graded pieces for less that are just as pleasing.

Everyone wants the same thing you do...leads to a short supply and higher prices...consider an AU55 coin.

Perhaps you can trade-in one of your BitCoins for a better date.

You can find the mintages by googling. There are some dates that look like pretty good buys. If you want mint state, that's fine. I like the 1872 S in circulated grades, mintage 9,000. I owned one once, but didn't really like the appearance. Still looking for the right one.
