If so what have you found? I bought 10 rolls today and found a 1918 wheat and a 1958 wheat...nothing special but still pretty cool finding a teen!
I haven't been to banks to search rolls in quite a while, but yesterday I rolled 6 dollars in cents from my own hoard and found 6 wheaties. One of which was a 17D. Allen
This may sound strange, but normally it is the other way around, around here. Most of the stores know I am looking for old coins, and are the ones asking me if I have any cent rolls I can sell them when they are short on them. I get just about all my cents from my local bank (credit union) in bags from their coin star type machine. Of course I have to roll them before I return them. Well I don't really, but not going to pay the 5% to have the machine recount the coins for me. Dave
I mostly get rolls from the local bank/credit union. I find usually about 1 wheat per $5 but last week I found 4 in a $5 bundle that I got.
I do it all the time. From corner stores to grocery stores, I try to swap them new mint-rolled coins for their re-rolls that they get from the neighbourhood. I've gotten a lot of coins dating back to the thirties (some in great condition), silver dimes and quarters and a fair amount of foreign coins that they fill the up the rolls with. I've had better luck buying from stores than from the banks and the stores are usually happy to sell them to me than to make a special trip to the bank.
Hi everyone, I want to collect some US pennies. (just "plain" cents only!) Since I live in Hong Kong, I just wonder if anyone can sell some to me. Please reply me if you are willing to help.
