And I may have been thinking about the 8 reales coins, I dunno. Sold most all my books on Colonial Spain years ago. I just remember the incident about using the old King's bust at first because timing re death/coronation, and then the new King's bust. They got the name on the coins right, just not the bust. And the independence movements started in different colonies in different years - so that probably played into it too. But whatever the reasons behind it all, it made things for that time period a bit interesting.
I live totally off the grid and my internet connection is through Hughes Net satellite and they set limits on downloads so ever link I click on "costs" me valuable download time.

I still think about the Indian $10 I saw with crescent ruby red toning. MS62 $700 2018? Haven't been able to see anything that holds a candle to it. Well maybe besides the Mercury Dime 1/10oz I bought. Jumped at the price at a local shop, only to see the reverse which had red "toning" stains that looked like blood on the axe. Owner promptly told me sold as is, while counting my money. Never buying a coin without inspecting it again.
