I am beaming from ear to ear on this note! I had a conversation with another cointalk member who's opinion I hold in high regard! After talking to the holder of this note and receiving the images I was sent I decided to purchase it.
This note is a Gem 66 CGA Series 1928 $20 Numeral Note from (yes, you guessed it) New York! Man..am I excited!!

    Thanks for looking everyone..

    Regards,

    De Orc....

Well you know how picky I am right..LOL.. at current time based on collecting all the Small Size NY notes from 1928 thru present including "Stars" I have quite a ways to go.
I will estimate that I need at minimum 200 more notes to finish it!!

You just reminded me of how far I have to go...so off to work I go..LOL

nice pickup rickie. i know the task you are undertaking as i am on my own quest. some of the '28 and '34 stars are getting harder to find. then of course you have the mules which can also be hard to find. i know some notes i will never have just because there are so few and the price tag is up there. lol you dont have to worry about the 1928 C notes with the light yellow green seal. those are quite pricey. i was lucky to find a $10 in CHCU for $80. ther $20 goes $2000 in CH CU even VF is almost a grand. well keep up the hunting. :hail:

that note is awsome!!!!! Man do i love them high graded notes. You just dont see many notes graded that high! Currency is just nothing like coins were 8 out of every 10 is a 69 lol

    Nice pick up RickieB!!!

Just think though... you may have 200 or so more to go ... but at least you got the 'cheaper' ones out of the way lol. .. the price is only going to go up :D

    good luck!!!

The 1934 C $5 are not cheap either by any strech of the imagination! Here is one of my examples...

    RichieB...thank you!
You should see this note in hand! The Dark Green seal and all other features are just so perfectly centered....it's hard to find a flaw with it at all...

Perhaps one day the collection will be on display at a major show?? who knows, it could happen!!

It wouldn't surprise me. I like this particular type of note because of the use of a number to denote the federal reserve bank rather than a letter. I have always liked them because the use of a number is different, it makes them stand out. I'm not an expert in these so maybe I'm missing something, but to me they look like a pretty normal FRN other than that (along with a couple other small things). So, that one feature makes these notes stand out to me. I really should go out and a circulated one up just so I have one in my collection.

Anyway, yours is a very nice example of one. :)
