Just thought I would share this...

I pulled this 1988 P Lincoln Cent from a coin roll search this morning. I thought it would be a good example of Machine Doubling to post on CoinTalk. It really is a nice example.

Agree - great photo of Mechanical/Machine Doubling.

Hopefully new members will see how flat and 'shelf-like'
the doubled letters are.

That is a beautiful coin, no matter what the cause of the doubling. And it is a good training coin. Thanks for posting it. Could you post full coin photos?

Since this coin is only worth FV. I am going to clean it up and take a few close-ups of the MD for everyone to see up close. Give me a few minutes.

Now remember kiddos, "NEVER" clean your coins if you are planning on selling them!!!!

I'd just hang onto it for study. It's a good benchmark, until you catch on.
