What coins do you have in mind for this year? are there any particular area of focus?
Since last year was my first year in ancients, I bought anything and everything that caught my eye within my budget, and I did't really have a goal, just accumulate nearly 100 coins!
However, this year I'm looking at severely scaling down my purchase for select few coins. We'll see if I can hold-up my promise or end up buying whatever catches my eye again ;)

My wishlist is pretty much anything and everything lol
I do want to add some more Gallienus zoo pieces, Byzantine overstrikes, and whatever else floats my boat.

My focus will be on coins minted in Europe between 350 and 1350 AD.
If you (correctly) think that that didn’t sound very focused, the time span was 450 BC - 1978 AD in 2020....
I will still allow myself to buy «irrelevant» coins that catch my eye, because that’s a good way to learn too, but to a lesser extent.
Cataloging the collection was a focus area last year. I’m done with 70-80%, and only have exonumia and post WWII coins left. I know that as soon as I get going with that again, I’m going to convince myself that I need a new Conder token, a colonial essai, or a lot of German emergency money from the 1920s again.... I’m not sure if I’m going to fight it, because those are fun and affordable areas. I’m going to deny myself any US coins or European coins post 1850 though. I think. Maybe.

Probably this year I will buy less coins, as I was in a buying rush since October, when I started this hobby in a serious way.
I was arranging my coins yesterday in the album and I noticed there are some of them I haven't studied properly.
As a collector, I am not 100% interested in the value of the coin, the ones I like the most could be quite cheap in monetary value, but I need to like them for the design, for a historical importance ....

My wish list will be mainly adding coins from Trajan, especially bronzes; Domitian, Nerva, Vespasian, Titus.
But I will not refuse Greek small coins like the one in my avatar or any other interesting coins, that would catch my attention.
