I have been browsing Wexler's (doubleddie.com) studying, and I notice there are a bunch of listings with no pictures or remarks. Does anybody happen to know why this is? When I search the listing titles, very rarely does anything come up.
Idk why it multiposted, weird. I am specifically referring to the Doubled Die Listings section (more specifically in the Wheat and Memorial pennies sections)
Think about it. Why do you think there is no image posted? What is the first thing that should come to mind? Great! That's the answer. PS You'll see this in lots of other places including books.
No, nothing comes to mind. That's why I came here. It's not like they're listed for sale, they appear to be just examples of doubled dies. And there are numerous examples of these listings that have a title but no pictures or remarks. Any serious answers?
Serious answer: THEY DON'T HAVE AN IMAGE. Otherwise, they don't have the space or consider the variety unimportant.
I'm using mobile, since that's what I have. And you aren't being helpful, I appreciate it anyway though I guess.

Then I guess you'll just need to get by w/o images or you can go to the library or a friend's house and see if one of their computers pulls them up for you. Bye, and good luck to you.
Your example of 1958 D has 7 listings for DDO. It is possible that they all have the same die markers and doubling in various stages of die life, but how you ascertain which one you have from that list I have no idea. Or I could be completely wrong in my assumption
@RabbiSchmooley ...I’m fairly certain that these used to be varieties but were de-listed as they were too minor. Of course, by that time many others were found and listed and doing it this way causes less confusion and all the reference books don’t have to be reprinted. You will find some of these with an explanation, like for the Lincoln Memorial “wavy steps” varieties, and others with no remarks at all. Don’t overthink this stuff, just use the designations that exist. This is why cross-references are included (sometimes)...different archives and book authors use different designations. I truly hope this was helpful to you...imo...Spark
