When I first saw this, my mind leaned toward some kind of plating issue. I would like to get some more thoughts on it? Other than a couple of very small issues, besides the carbon spots, this coin is in very good condition. Unfortunately, it did not include the "Wide-AM" variety I was looking for.
As mentioned in the description, I did notice that it was the "Close-AM" variety. Did I not ask specifically about what I was curious about on this coin? My bad. Using the three(3) last photographs in the original post above, I tried to illustrate that the "RIB" and the "M" in "E-PLURIBUS UNUM" seem much larger than the surrounding devices, as well as having a much shinier appearance? Oh... Wait... You were trying to emphasize to me that my assumption of a plating error was the correct one, and therefor not really important to discuss? I get it! Thank you paddyman98.
It's another worn die strike. Did you read what I said about the problem with magnification of Cents in your other thread?
Yes. I didn't diagnose it as an error coin. I was just wanting to verify that I was right about it being a plating error. As for your advice on using a loop to view the coins, I am not in possession of one at the moment. Looking in to getting one though. Thanks.
