Thought this was strange. Never seen a star on Georges face before.

What about a Mercury space capsule on Liberty's cheek of a 1878-S Morgan?

Is that just a perfectly formed die chip?cool

I'm inclined to think it is a die dent.

I read that there are no known errors on the Ellis Island quarter which is what this is. There is also a strange line stamped on the reverse. Im new to this, so I dont want to say there is something when there isn't. Thank you

I'd need a better close-up, but it looks like it is recessed to me. If so, it is just damage.

PMD as it appears to be recessed.

Thats as close as I can get. The bottom is the strange dent through the kids face.

Neither of these photos is good enough, but what does the reverse have to do with the star on the obverse?

Can't you give us a better close-up like this?
