Not sure of the year, but finaly found a Merc reverse in the black and white atomic museum case. next is a rosie reverse in a blue and white (but those easier to come by) and I have the set with reverses (including the 64-65 worlds fair and of course my "oak ridge" (the prize of the set) That's gonna be the painful one... "oak ridge reverse" gonna cost me some ducats :D (all thanks to a post on another site i decided I want to complete this set lol)

That I don't know without opening the case once it gets here :D and opening the case could likely destroy it so may never know (and yes on magnification it does apear to be a D)

I wish I would have known that. My dealer had four in his case one day early this year. I picked up one for myself. Just ten bucks. I should have grabbed his others.

I didn't know they could be that cheap!
I saw a couple at the last Baltimore Whitman show FFIVN and I went to and they were like ~$50.

Price varies by the case... oak ridge the earliest and hardest to come by, Atomic museum in black are 50s in the 60s they switched to blue and white Atomic museum and the 64-65 worlds fair was a blue plastic disc with white lettering.. there are several others out there as well

I think it’s one of those deals that there isn’t really a fixed value. I’ll ask my guy if he happens to still have any of these. He tends to have a lot of odds and ands stuff around. Here’s mine.

The ones I saw looked like @Randy Abercrombie's They are super cool but I could do $50 for one. $10 is way more doable :)

If I remember right they made a total of about 250k of these over 30yrs 99% of those show the face of the dime.. but there are some reverses out there, I've even seen a "hobo dime" in the worlds fair holder recently and I believe on of the guys over at Numissociety has one with a barber dime

Back in 2006 when I started collecting coins again after a long hiatus, I bought a couple of these off ebay. This is the only one I have left! Quite a novelty, could be 1964/65 was the last year but that's just a guess! :D

Strangely enough they tried to continue the program by pulling silver dimes out of bank rolls but finaly had to stop 68-69 when they could no longer get enough silver dimes to make it worth while.
