Thanks! It was a great year! I really took a liking to each of those coins for a different reason. I'm hoping 2021 is as good but thats a lineup that will be tough to beat for me. I have to give it to you @lordmarcovan , your eclectic box and tastes have had a fairly good sized influence on me.
@kazuma78 Thanks for sharing this remarkable group of coins. I voted for #1, 2 and 7. I like it that you also collect (semi) modern coins. I once owned a very rare fugio (cross after date, raised rims) but necessarily sold it to finance my ancient coin focus. If I had unlimited funds, I would expand to some modern genres but alas...
I primarily focus on ancients these days and plan to continue in that vein as I move forward, but I still appreciate and enjoy some "moderns". I still plan to acquire things such as a Caballito peso, example of encased postage, feuchtwanger, etc. I like variety and enjoy sharing pieces with non-collectors that may resonate with them, and having a variety from different periods helps with that. I have sold a lot of duplicates and items that didn't interest me anymore to fund some of my purchases this year, much like you.
Gosh, they are all so drool-inducing! You have great taste and high standards. What a great year! The Syracuse tet and Lysimachus tet are favorites. That's a wonderful Kroisos 1/3 stater as well! Hmm, I'll stop now or I'll end up naming them all as favorites... including the Fugio cent . I briefly had a Fugio... gave it to a friend. I have a Feuchtwanger and should get it out to admire more often.
Thanks @TIF ! Thats high praise coming from you since you have great tastes yourself! I was pleased with each of the pickups and only lamented a few losses in 2020. I was glad to see you had a pretty good year yourself!
