Hey guys just wanted to share my new pickup from NNC. :D

I never thought I would ever own one of these and so I’m super excited to have it.

I know it’s in very low condition but it’s still a 1799 Draped Bust Dollar so I’m happy with it. ^_^

    Thanks! :D

I absolutely know how you feel. I specifically checked to make sure the date was earlier than 1800 and when I saw 1799 I grabbed it. xD

Very nice pick up! Glad you're happy with the coin. I would be. F-12 is not a low condition by the way.

    Thanks! :)

They had two of them there but I just couldn’t afford the XF 40 one. Lol

Well I just mean that on a scale of 1-70 it’s pretty low.

But then when you factor in how old the coin is it makes sense why it’s not still in MS or AU condition xD

WOW Blake that is a beautiful coin! It's got the perfect patina too. I hope to get one of my own in the coming year, glad to see you got yourself a nice 1700's US type coin.

Very nice pick up, Blake! I think any one of us on this forum would be proud to have that coin! One of those (pre-1800's big silver) is on my want list as well.

That has some good honest wear. I like the circam look. Very nice!

    Thanks man! :D

I’ve always wanted a pre-1800 American Silver/Gold coin myself and this felt like the perfect time to get one.

I don’t think there are many 1799 Draped Bust Dollars left. According to NGC they’ve only graded a total of 1500 of all grades.

Also I think I got a really good price for it since I got a cash discount.

What do you mean by “circam”?

    LOL!! Yeah right! XD

I think I’ll stick with this one since I could never justify spending like $40,000 on an AU one. Let alone an MS one!

$40,000 ??? :wideyed::wideyed: Didn't know that coin cost that much as you moved up in grade.

Well...work hard, save and invest....and then pray for MegaMillions. :D

For the 1799 date there is a massive price jump from MS63 ($40k) to MS64($110k).

    Circulated Cameo.
@lordmarcovan has posted some nice examples before. I don't have any US coins but here is an ancient example:
