I think the first one is nice , a MS65 . I was a little distracted by the 2nd ones toning . I thought MS62 as well .
Nice in the old soap holder's there's nothing wrong with coins certified by other grading companies besides ngc or pcgs.
The reverse is holding the 79-O back from a 63. The obverse has above average luster for a 79-O. The 79-S looks like a generic 79-S in 64-65, slightly PL surfaces.
Nice coins. Surprised by the "S" got a 65. The marks on the cheek are distracting to me but maybe it's just the photo. Either way, both are nice.
Both seem correct to me. The '79-O could have been 63 were it not for the reverse as already mentioned.
Could those of you who don't like the reverse on the O-mint elaborate a bit? Generally the reverse won't pull the grade down on a Morgan unless it's really out of whack with the obverse. Is it the borderline ED on the rim or something more?
The reverse will almost never help a grade, but it can hurt it. From the static pictures, all I can go on is first impression eye appeal and luster, which didn't strike me as being as nice on the reverse as it is on the obverse. The very dark toning on the rim (caused by the holder, BTW) does play a part in that for me.
