I'm amazed at its condition, being a 52 year old penny I found in a random roll from a local grocery store.
I have noticed there are certain years that just seem to hold up better. I've found probably 150 1985 pennies that look like they practically just came from the mint.
Sometimes collectors who hoard tons of Cents just get tired and put them into circulation. The condition of all coins depends on the amount of circulation and type of environment they are found in. It has nothing to do with certain years hold up better. Although copper cents hold up better than copper plated zinc cents.
I've got a question if you don't mind. Would you consider that coin to have an orange peel finish, or no?
