Hi everyone! I could not let the year conclude without stopping in and saying hello. I wish everyone blessings of G-d for safety, health, joy and prosperity in the approaching new year. While, I had no new coin acquisitions in 2020, every few months I spent some time tidying/cleaning my crusty ancient coins. There are about 10 different coins undergoing cleaning and they are all at different stages. There are Nabatean, Judaean, Roman, Byzantine and Greek, too! Maybe some recall that @Victor_Clark sent a group of coins some time back for me to experiment on. I have cleaned and shown you guys how three or four of those turned out. I selected two more of Victor's coins to try to clean. Although I could not tell when I started out, one is a she wolf feeding the twins. It seems to have a delicious milk chocolate patina under the black crud. We will see how it shapes up. The other coin of Victor's is a fallen horseman but I do not think I have seen this one before (I am not an expert, as you know). I'll post the coins when they are completed or near completion. (BTW, Victor, I still consider these your coins!). Glad to say hello. Hugs and more blessings!
I don't collect Ancients, but best wishes to you, too, for the new year and many more to come. ~Chris
So great to hear from you, Cointessa! Happy New Year to everyone! Celebrating the eventual arrival of a group of Byzantine coins from DHL "express" with some smoked salmon and champagne. I think these crossed the Atlantic three times before arriving today. John
Happy New Year @LaCointessa ! Looking forward to seeing what your cleaning brings out. @Theodosius That is a great looking pile of Byzantines!
