My 1788 Mass copper package has been found (went awol on the 14th) might see it soon (someone "cursed" me on this package "sure it will be there Monday...said Sal".... Putz
Hopefully you'll get it soon. Until then, I'd still consider it lost. Not trying to be negative, just realistic.
My 3 Prioroty Mail flat envelopes have traveled about a mile in the past 10 days. The 4 corresponding first class letters that I mailed at the same time, 2 to the same town as one of the Priority packages, arrived within 7 days. I could have saved $20, if I didn’t need them to arrive quickly, like in time for the Probate hearing. I know it’s the holidays, but come on. And they were only traveling 160 miles.
USPS is going to be hit-or-miss for the next couple weeks until the effect of extra Christmas shipping this year "drains" from their system. I'm looking at my shipping log and there is one outgoing shipped on the 20th that still hasn't arrived, while there's another shipped a similar distance on the 28th that was delivered early this morning. On the bright side, if a certain number of packages are stolen or rifled by USPS employees every day, that number doesn't go up when the volume does, under the assumption that the capacity of internal thieves to steal stuff undetected doesn't increase, which means your package in transit is safer than it is when volume is normal. I hope I didn't just curse my shipments by saying that.
Thats interesting my package coming from Idaho is arriving today only two days since I purchased it Tuesday morning thats a record.
Your lucky, one of my packages still hasn't been found and the trace/missing mail case is closed & even my local PO emailed to file an insurance claim But packages I mailed off Tuesday and 1 I bought are being delivered today, go figure.
At least the USPS found it. A few months back I had a package sent via FedEx go missing after they delivered it to my porch..... so they say. FedEx chalked it up as victim of porch pirates. Two weeks later, I received a text from someone residing a few blocks from me who stated that my package has been sitting on their porch for a few weeks and they've left it out waiting for FedEx to come back and pick it up since it was obviously delivered to the wrong address, same house number, wrong street. Had that person not been honest and called me, since my number was on the outer shipping label, I would never have received the package/out of pocket, and FedEx would have simply chalked it up as porch piracy - not their fault.
