I have a 1988 cent or Penny what ever you Guy's want two call it .First of all I hope every body had a nice Christmas this year I had a good Christmas best part of it I got two stay at home not big on traveling right now with all this crazy stuff going on.All right let's get to it found this coin in a roll I want try to detail it out my pictures are getting better been practicing a little bit doing a lot of reading but ant seen much about this kind of coin I also have another coin to. But I will put it on a different thread.So Guy's hopefully some body can give me a little advice is it a keeper or throw it back in the jar and send it back to the Bank.

I didn't have no ideal that zinc rott could cause one to do all that. But you the guy that I'm Glad you responded to this cause I was told you was the man to talk too about Penny's I'm sure any coin thank you it's going back to the Bank. I have another coin for you I will put it on another thread.
When I first looked at it, the stuff behind Lincoln's head looked like a big die chip, but the stuff down below LIBERTY shows where the copper coating has broken and the zinc has started to rot. Honestly, looking for errors on cents after 1982 is very difficult because of the change of composition. The only thing I would trust in the Zincolns is something that is REALLY doubled (and of course WAMs and CAMs).
Yeah I agree Kentucky I was kind of tossing that one in the air I thought it was a die chips all over it but I know they was a possibility that it being a 88 coin any thing is possible that is the reason I like the copper coins. I don't even collect the coins from the 86 and up not less it's the AM or something like that or a 95 doubled die coins but their all memorial Penny's I really don't even look at the shield Penny's. I buy my coins buy the roll it's so bad around here if you are lucky you might get 15 coins out of 50 that I even look at I don't mess with the shield Penny's I look for theme to do away with the Penny when it's all said and done.That is when a lot of these coins will be worth some money it's just a matter of time that is what I think but what do I know just going off what ever body else says about it but I do believe that. I do look for the Penny will be gone in the next 10 years if that hold on to theme Penny's they will be worth a killing if you done have something just await and see that coins will triple. Then let someone laugh about a Penny than us Guy's that are into the Penny no matter if you collect buy dates or buy errors they will be worth something so buy as many as you can these old coins will be worth something besides 2 cents a common coin will be like a wheat Penny 4 or5 cent's maybe more that is how I look at it.
