"Recovering" is not what I would call what is happening. But things are for the most part open, with some exceptions. Most banks here never closed fully and I have always been able to get coins. I had about 6 months where I could pick coins up but not dump them. Now I'm able to do both.

I can get rolls my bank is open but I can't get any boxes of coins but some people are my question is are some banks hoarding them and not giving them out to the public but some are nice enough to also let regular people get some and not just businesses.

Mine last before this was in March too. I noticed the signs about the shortage were down, so asked one bank Thursday and they sold me a box. Asked another’s today. And they had one to sell

Most banks just don't have extras sitting around. Find out who the "vault teller" is......and ask if they can order a box for you.......ALSO.....never dump coins where you get the coins......

Been through the new box. Scored another Weir Farms W, and a couple minor varieties (spittinghorse, In god we Rust etc...) Have not opened the ender roll yet.....still debating on weather I should. Was hoping for a Wisconsin Extra leaf. One day I will find it I guess. Noticed a lot of nice condition earlier quarters (2000 and before). Wish I had room to keep them.!

Last box of quarters for 2020 was nice to me. Gave me 2 silvers, 36P, 59D.

Strangest find for me was a "Close Quarter" in a roll from my bank. I can't describe it in detail here. Against the rules! But, you can do a search if you are curious!

What do you mean by "Close Quarter" as relates to Numismatics? On an Internet search of "close quarter" (even including "numismatics" in the search) all I got was related to "fighting at close quarters" which could relate to your username, but not to coins. Or am I being dense, like you're referring to something else that's rolled up when you get it?

I'd never heard the term "close quarter" used in this context, but according to Google, that's apparently a term some people use for parody state-quarter imitations.

You don't have to describe it. The date/state would suffice. By your response, I would take a guess that it's the 2003 Arkansas/Bill Clinton one?

  15. I went to the same bank twice this month and asked for Silver Dollars. Each time they told me a man just came in and cashed in 30 Eisenhower Dollars and the other day it was 100 Eisenhower Dollars. One in the second batch is Silver. I thought someone raided their parents coins. I am keeping them all.

    Let's see em!
Be sure to check for T2 Ikes.

  18. I recently picked up 4 or 5 rolls of small dollars. They were Uncirculated Presidents Coins - John Quincy Adams, Abraham Lincoln, George Washington & James Madison. One I had to open because they were enders. Any suggestion on what to do with them?

I scored 60 Ikes in one bank trip not quite a year ago. Kept them all. No silver though. The teller said someone cashed them in. They were in a small cardboard box.

Yes they are also called a Bill Clinton quarter by some. Of course it is not legal tender! LOL I just thought it was strange to get one in a roll from my bank!
