Pretty happy to add these 2 coins to my small Byzantine collection. Please show your coins of Christ Antiphonetes and the Virgin Mary, thanks
They are very nice additions in better shape than most. Congratulations! I recommend Byzantine copper to readers. If you know little about it, try this site: "Introduction to Byzantine coins (491-1453)" http://augustuscoins.com/ed/Byz/
Niiiice... Trying to get all the anonymous follis is a fun and interesting goal for anyone wondering where to start with a Byzantine collection. It is like collecting pokemons! Gotta get them all! Let me add that what you have there is a class C and a class G. A really useful source for these coins was created by our fellow coin-talker @Valentinian http://augustuscoins.com/ed/ByzAnon/index.html (Edit: Just saw his post, lol) And here are my examples of the classes you posted:
Nice additions @Andres2! The top one has a particular nice face (and complete bust) of Jesus. Basil II and Constantine VIII (976-1028 A.D.), Anonymous AE Follis Class A3, Constantinople mint. Obverse: Facing bust of Christ, wears nimbus cruciger ornamented in each limb of cross, pallium and colobium, Gospels in both hands, to left IC, to right XC. Reverse: IhSuS / XRISTuS / bASILEu / bASILE (Jesus Christ King of Kings), ornamentation above and below. Reference: SBCV 1818. 7.84g
