Well, I do believe it is genuine. It appears to have some environmental damage, I really can't tell if those stains eat into the surface or not. It looks very bright and has probably been cleaned at some point. The greenish tint makes me concerned about PVC. My opinion, based solely on the photos, it that it would find its way into a PCGS 'genuine' holder, be no graded by NGC, and holdered (issues noted) by ANACS.
Did you spill your coffee on it a second before you took the picture? Seriously, it's a beautiful coin with some serious issues. It might be able to be fixed/saved. Some people around here should have some good ideas for you.
if you go with NGC, you might want to send it to ncs first to take care of that gunk. Oh ya. Awesome coin.
That coin should go to no one except NCS and hopefully it will qualify to cross over to NGC after they're finished fixing it. :thumb: Love it! :hammer: Ribbit
I checked out NCS' website. Does anyone here have experience with submitting coins to NCS? The spots and "coffee stain" (lol) appear to be some kind of mold. Is mold generally a corrosive agent for coins? Thanks everyone for the opinions!
I have sent one coin to NCS and it is currently still there. I bought a fugio off of eBay that had some verdi that I sent them. Call NCS and speak to Craig. He is really nice.
