I don't have a photo reference for these quarters so I'm not entirely sure about the authenticity of this example. Any opinions on it before I drop a bundle on it? The only photo I have found is the one on PCGS. The only apparent difference I see is the alignment of the "1" and "8" in the date. On this one the 8 looks slightly higher that the 1. On PCGS'S the 1 and 8 look like they're on the same line. I know there are several dies varieties. It's described as MS63; I'm thinking it's more MS60 or even AU58, with an old cleaning and partial retoning. Any experts out there?

Well I'm not an expert maybe one will chime in. I'd say the coin you posted is real and I'd say the coins were struck from the same die pairs at different times. Look at the bases of the I and T on the obverse and the same grease filled star on the reverse.

David, i agree with Diocletian that 1806 quarter seems OK, and a nice high grade example to boot. It seems to be the 1806/5 overdate? Since that coin is bound to be a pricey item maybe you want to spend some time comparing against images in Heritage archives.
    Good luck with it!

Thanks for the responses guys. It does have the same attributes as the Coinfacts example, which seems to be a slightly sharper strike, except for the cloth folds on the bust which seem weaker and less defined. If I do get it and it turns out to be not as advertised I can always return it.
