I got 10 of these start notes the other day!! The 1930-B* is the key to the 2003A notes!! I am working on my small federal reserve notes 1963-2003 in all star notes!!
He is referring to the new FR# for the series 2003A Star notes Daggar. Nice New York notes....However, according to S/L 8th Edition all Districts start regular and Star Issues with 00000001. I have found no printed info on numbers of notes printed in my books, but I am sure it is somewhere as published info. Thanks for sharing... RickieB
The 2003A $1 B..* had 7,360,000 notes printed, in five print runs. They started at serial 00000001 but had some gaps, so they used serials as high as 13120000. These particular notes are from run #3, which was a full-length run of 3,200,000 stars. I can't imagine why these would be the key to the series--from the production figures the K..* looks a whole lot tougher, having had no full runs printed--but I haven't been collecting such things myself, so it's possible that there's a pricing quirk I don't know about. See here for serialling data on the 2003A $1 (the stars are toward the bottom).
Good luck with the set. A few pretty tough notes in that group for sure. Several with less than 1 million printed.
amen to that.:high5: '63 is an interesting date. why did you choose that. i still think it is a cool idea. how far have you gotten in your collection. gl on the long journey
The reason I started with 1963 is because I am trying to build a registry set. I am buying all of the notes raw and i am going to wait till I have the whole set and send them in all at once!! I have already listed the key star note for each year and working on tracking down these notes. After I finish the 1963 - 2003, I will start getting the early notes. So far I have 4 of 22.
