But I don't know if it is in the sales in all country, or only in Ebay? I would like to hear more opinions. Thank you.
If you're asking if coin sales are slowing down, I would say that statement (in general) is true. Most sectors of the coin market are seeing some slowdown, but it's not too bad from what I've seen. Most of the shows I've been to lately are still pretty busy. When I ask dealers, some of them complain a little bit about it being slow, but again, not bad.
I am not sure, but the local coin store I use has been packed the last couple of times I was in the store. The bust coinage(not the bust halves) and morgans have been picked clean.
Even the guys who write the Coin Values articles in Coin World and Numismatic News are admitting the maket has slowed down and that prices are dropping. And they never do that !
I think the coin market is slowing, other than bulk silver and maybe wheat cents. But the ebay thing is more like a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Many dealers are fed up with the fees and new rules. Then the selection goes down, reducing the number of people even bothering to login. However, there are plenty of counterfeits to choose from yet!!!
From what I have seen and heard from people, yes sales are slowing on the vast majority of items out there. Even people with money to burn are not burning it as fast as they use to, for the most part.
I have been buying on ebay a lot recently... I have actually purchased some old mint and proof sets for up to 25% below greysheet bid! Thats not a bad thing for me personally would love for the market to go down so i can afford more coins
