Congrats on the gold. Now really, what are you going to do with 4000 halves. 4000 half dollars: $2000 Sorting through them for silver: $0 Confusing the poor McDonalds guy with the clads: priceless
Pics Here are some pics. Searching through halves for silver and errors. 1 box down. Sorry for crappy pics.
The UHR's are one of the few things the Mint produced that I'm confident will jump significantly in value.
Would like to know the outcome of your search. I've been searching 1/2's for about a year now and come up what hardly anything. Bob
Amost through 2 boxes and no silver yet! A few no FG's and 2 from the 2000's only supposed to be in mint sets. If we get none, no more boxes from the bank, only rolls customer wrapped rolls.
My coworker got his UHR today as well. He checked the tracking at work and it was listed as delivered. Well it wasn't delivered to him so he took a quick ride home. There it sat on his doorstep and it's raining here now. No damage but the shipping was certainly not acceptable and it's not the fault of UPS. Think about it folks. A $1200 coin just sitting on his porch for anyone to grab. No signature required. He should tell the mint he never got it.
My picture taking abilites are atrocious. Looked over UHR with loupe and could not find anything wrong. No errors, but no marks either! Its my dads coin, and he just left, so no better pics. Wish he would have forgotton UHR and left it here. The box is so awesome, one we figured out how it worked. Need to push down in the front and the coin springs up for display. Chase bank ordered halves for me with the stipulation that I don't return them there.
Thats what I told my dad, joking. It would sure make the mint stop and think about what they are doing.
He didn't and I won't when mine comes. The point is that something of that value should require a signature. There ARE dishonest people out there and they will get stolen
Awe the halfs, I search about $2K a month, under the same agreement with a different bank. Last two boxes produced 3-1964 and 5- 65-69. Speaking of searching, I found a cent with no copper plating, are these common?
