I'm finding ng a lot of vams that have similar qualities but should I be looking for one with all the exact same qualities?

You should try to match the listed die markers first and foremost. Cracks, breaks, die polishing lines and gouges etc. will vary throughout the life of the die, giving the EDS( early die stage), MDS (middle) and LDS (Late die stage) listings.
Concentrate first on the one @Dave Waterstraat mentioned in post # 10

Where do I find this info about die stages? On the vamworld site? All I've seen so far is die stage recall so far.

They are not listings a such, on the pages that feature cracks etc as well as the die markers, in the description it should tell you what die stage the image refers to. Obviously, the EDS coins will show few but as the die progresses through it's life, cracks getting longer, die breaks appearing, clashing etc.
By working your way through the attribution for beginners guide you will gain info that will aid you in your search. As it states there, identifying the obv and rev hub types will go a long way to narrowing your search. It is not an easy study, you need patience and methodically work your way the the listings, some VAMs are easier to attribute than others and others will have you scratching your head in frustration.
