It would have to be Problem coins (such as cleaned...etc) for my collection...when I get them I always resell them.

OldDan, how about one of the original, gold-dipped "No Cents" V-Nickels? In an odd way, it's a "counterfeit" coin, but I'd sure love to have one in my collection.

I would have to second that! That is a piece of genuine history there. Just as in today's society, it did not take long for the scammers of that era long on how to run that scam.

Morgan silver dollars. I just don't think it's an attractive coin. I choose peace dollars every time.

Out of all the coins to choose a least favorite from, you choose the Morgan?

this thread is 7 years old man! this is referred to as "necroposting" on many forums, namely video game forums.

  12. As a oldtimer collector from everyday pocket change i dont have the problem.
Only those that buy coins for collecting have the problem you are asking about.
A true collector of coins like me will welcome any coin that he finds because they are all even fake have a history about them.
When you cherry pick coins then the words coin collectors take on a somewhat different meaning.

Nothing wrong with that though - unless a recent poster expects a reply from somebody who may have left the forum years ago. ;) There's various ways of resurrecting old topics - you may come across one when performing a forum search, a web search, or by clicking on a topic in the "Similar Threads" area. I'm pretty sure I have done it myself ...

I will have to say that the least inspired coin of all time is the V nickel. I own some but I find them boring.

I cannot keep red copper coins at all where I live that date before 1959. The city's air just blackens everything I try to keep. It doesn't matter what it is, I don't want to try to keep red coppers! Oh, and plated coins too, ugch!

I'll collect any type of US coin, even SBAs. Only coins I don't let go into my collection are those copper coins coded with green crap (sorry, the name escapes me at the moment).

By German coins I mean the natzi ones, ww2, reminds me of what they did to some of my ancestors

Well for some "German history" begins in 1933 and ends in 1945. Others will have different opinions, and hopefully a somewhat broader view ...
