    Neither are my pictures.
The Vitellius denarius has been in transit from CNG for some time now, and I take delivery on the car (Subaru Legacy Touring XT) on Wednesday

OK I did buy this one from the recent FSR auction and the holidays provided an excuse. Ever since I bought the book The Coins of Britannicus and His Relatives I wanted an example. It arrived a few days ago.

I haven't bought anything for my collection since 2006 . . . since then it's all been for resale.

I bought one for myself at Naville's most recent auction, but it hasn't arrived yet (it should get here tomorrow or Monday). I won't show it as I'm saving it for a Faustina Friday feature. :D

    (Merry Christmas all).
Currently bidding on, what would be, my first London mint Roman coin. They seem to go like hot cakes over here so I am hoping the festivities will distract bidders. Fingers and everything else crossed. Cheers!

    Merry Christmas!!!
Although I got a coin-related gift from my younger daughter (a wireless digital microscope), this Christmas I treated myself with this long-desired semilibral triens of the anomalous series, Crawford 39/1; a lot of mistery around this coins... I bought my self the 2020 S Limited Edition Silver Proof Set for $201. I bought my wife a $400 22" 14K gold neckless. I sold a 2019 W Quarter Ounce American Gold Coin. I didn't want her to know how much I paid for her Necklace. The Necklace was also my present when I saw her face when she put it on.
While I'm thinking about it, how many of you save the packing slips from U.S. Mint purchases?

My Grandkids got me this nice sentry coin box and some rolls. One roll is "one cents" Indian Head 20201225_110856.jpg 20201225_110943.jpg 20201225_111345.jpg 20201225_110805.jpg roll of 50. Looks like 1891 and possibly a 1908 at ends.

My wife and granddaughters got me some silver commemoratives and sets for my collection, which will go back to our granddaughters later, much later I hope. Happy New Year to all...

While visiting a flea market, I bought my Christmas present, a United States Type set folder. Bargain price of $10. During the past weeks I decided to see what extra coins I had to fill the folder. The only two coins I didn't have extras of without taking them out of date sets was a Liberty $20 and Saint Gaudens $20. So I splurged and bought the Liberty $20 and will soon splurge and buy the Saint. Sorry I don't take good pictures. But I'm a happy coin collector wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. IMAG0201.jpg IMAG0202.jpg IMAG0203.jpg IMAG0204.jpg IMAG0205.jpg IMAG0206.jpg IMAG0207.jpg

Got The Landmark Julius Caesar’s Complete works.... and bought a Claudius II Alexandrian tertadrachm for a nice $26 (always looking to fill out the check list of Alexandrian coins at a good price).

A great book and a better helper book than Milne in my opinion. I have both and Curtis and always start with Emmett.

Like zumbly I don't buy myself anything at Christmas and then I pretend it makes up for what I spent on my collection all year.....

That said, I am still waiting on 500 grams of Vietnamese cash that were ordered from overseas in late September and are still wending their way across the world. Tracking data indicates a possible delivery in mid-January so I can pretend that is a Christmas present.
