Double-headed Jefferson nickel 1984 one side 1982 other side. Counterfeit?

    It did not come from the mint that way... someone made it as a novelty coin.

    YES..................they most likely cut the reserve off of each coin and joined them together!!

    How about a picture. I've heard of the mint mixing dies.

    Well I don't remember the exact coin but it was something like a dime reverse on a cent planchet with a lincoln obverse.

    A genuine piece like that is not possible. Even if somehow they did manage to put two obverses together they couldn't be dated two years apart. The destroy all of the dated dies at the end of the year. One year apart would be possible since at the end of the year they are making dies for the coming year as well.
