I'm curious why you bidded $25 for that. Plus the $5.95 shipping. Seems like you could have gotten the same thing from the bank for a buck. Leave it out in the rain for a few days and it will probably look the same as the one you bought. NCS is just certifying that it's a genuine coin (as in, not a counterfeit).
NCS is also saying it is not an error... These presidential dollars tone kind of a coppery color with use and time... i bet they are gonna be real attractive in a few years.... YUCK!!
But it looks nice and shiney, copper color. Could it of been maked? as, of price. Don't know why I brought, look kinda neat.
NCS is just certifying that it is an original coin... i suspect that they would put a plated coin in their holder if the coin that had been plated was genuine.
Yea, ya'd think. That's why I didn't suggest plating to begin with. But, anyway, it really looks more like toning, but the image is so unclear it's hard to say anything.
Frankly I'm surprised there isn't a notification on the holder as it is... why is it in an NCS holder?? That really has me perplexed...
What really perplexes ( not really) me is why the photo of the slab with label is so fuzzy but the close ups are so much sharper..... Maybe he forgot to turn off the macro. Jim
I don't follow these type of errors at all, if in fact it is an error, so I really can't give an opinion on it's authenticity. However, if the coin was suspected to be Copper Plated, then NCS just like NGC and PCGS, would have body-bagged the coin and not slabbed it as "Genuine"! My gut-feeling on the matter is that NCS did not know what to make of the color, could not determine if it was an error or not but could determine that the coin is genuine and not tampered with. Frank
