    Thanks a lot @lordmarcovan !
Actually this is the only Christmas present this year, so it made me even happier!

BTW, if anyone is wondering, the 2c piece is an 1864 Large Motto, the 3c piece an 1869, and the Walking Liberty a 1918-S.

Our friend is in Germany and did not have any US 2-cent or 3-cent pieces in his collection. He chose the 1918-S Walker because it was from his grandfather’s birthyear, if I remember correctly.

PS- thanks for posting this update, @goossen. Glad you liked ‘em. :)

PPS- also, while there was indeed a modest gift item in the envelope, I do not deserve credit for giving you the coins in the photo above. You swapped me something for them. So they’re really a Christmas present to yourself! ;)

    The timing worked out well!

On occasion, a post appears defining the true value of a coin. Well done lordmarcovan.

    Indeed.

And I still owe CT another post with your extra gift and the results of “dating” your envelope. :D
