I want to give a HUUUGE shout out to my secret Santa. THANK YOU so much. Santa did his research and knew that I liked research and a copy of Penny Whimsy is awesome! And then He threw in a brown pack Ike, and he’s right they are under appreciated. And he wasn’t done, he rounded it off with a first day issue Lincoln dollar coin from NGC, a 39 nickel, and a 1917 Penny, 82 six pence, and a 50 fils from the UAE. Santa you rock, and that book is going to get a lot of action this week as I’m going to pull out my large cents and do some attribution. He also included a very nice letter and card. Again, thanks Santa

Santa decided to help me in my retirement by sending me a $10,000,000 German Notgeld note from 1923! Also several other interesting notes. A very nice lightly toned 2013 ASE was also included to add to my collection. Thanks Santa!
I wish you and every member of the CoinTalk community a Merry Christmas and a Healthy New Year!

Thank you Secret Santa for the gift. The ancients double my collection. Thank you! The world coins are appreciated as well. I am not good researching the ancients, but I will give it a try. Have a great Christmas. IMG_1822.JPG IMG_1823.JPG

Thank you Santa! He saw fit to bring me a whole sleigh load of silver:

Enjoyed doing a bit of error searching and I also enjoy the tiny foreign coins. One of the mercs and one of the Roosevelt's will make it into my $10 or less dime collection. Incidentally, if my 2021 Santa is looking for what to get me, I still have this slot open ;)

However, the real winner is this love token which Santa sent:

I always like adding examples of these weird bits of coin history to my collection so that I can show them to people and give them a bit of story. I didn't have one in my collection and this one even has a "W" on it to my eye.

Thanks Santa, definitely a good one!

I successfully waited until Christmas morning to open my CTSS gift. (The wife helped/insisted). My patience was rewarded. I have been considering starting a Kennedy Half collection and this just might give me the needed boost.

    Thank you Santa.

I love that language tree map - my ancestry is Latvian; I knew that the language was Indo-European in origin, but this graphic pin-points it to a small branch from the early Slavic limb of the tree :peeking:

My SS sent me two coins. One is very old and from very far away. The other is kinda new and from kinda nearby. Both are unique and special to me. Thank you SS!

Well, I waited til Xmas, and I was gotta say, my SS did a great job!

Santa saw I'm a commemorative guy, and sent me a 2010 Boy Scouts Centennial Silver Dollar, and a 2020 Massachusetts Telephone Innovation Dollar. I really like them both, and needed the Boy Scouts for my Modern set, but the Innovation $1 is a really cool coin! i had never seen one before as it's not a series I followed, but this coin is about the coolest coin to look at in hand. The way the light plays in the 10 concave finger holes is mesmerizing! I have a feeling this is going to be a series I complete.

Also included were 2 Twix bars. This had a double effect. My mother in law recently immigrated to the US from Hungary, and is a chocoholic. She had never seen/had a Twix bar, so I gave her one, and she loved it so much I gave her the other one. So Santa made 2 people's Christmas that much better!

Thank you Secret Santa! 2020 secret santa.jpg

Am still waiting but was told Santa put some extra TLC into my gift so it's going to take a little longer. And I'm happy to wait. It will be a welcome surprise when it arrives! :)

Here’s what my Santa sent me this year. I love the walking liberty. Believe it or not, this is the first one I have ever seen that wasn’t on a page of a book! Thank you santa!

As a Cavalryman, I have a great appreciation for Gallienus. I randomly bought an ancient coin that happened to be from his rule and learned that he commissioned the first separate cavalry regiment. Pretty cool history!
