brunei 1967 sultan P1 $1 one dollar colour error/varieties note?missing underprint?the colour looks very much difference on obverse and reserve sides(top note)compare with a normal colour note(bottom note),there are many BLUE colour dots on the centre icons on the white background instead of the normal purple dots on the red background note. How would you explain all this BLUE colour DOTS???anyway,is this considered as variety colour note?someone on the other forum says the colour is variety, still not sure about that.anyway,im sure you can see the difference colour of the DOTS.I Need help from banknote expert to identify it and confirm. The error note is in uncirculated extra fine condition. Please see the scan below and compare them carefully. Is it considered as an error/variety note?if yes ,is this common or rare for the brunei note?please give me your comment, help is always apprieciated.Thank you so much.

is the note engraved or lithographed? The way the bottom front center 'design' is colored in, makes me think that at least parts of the note could be lithographed (is that even possible). The pick catalog doesnt say either way, so maybe it isnt.
On post war iraqi notes that were lithographed, i see alot of the same types of missing ink. I dont know if that was because they were printing notes so fast and in poor quality that alof of notes ran low on certain inks, or if its because some other reason.

I dont have any notes from Brunei, so i have little experience with those notes. Sorry.

    good luck!

hi,what do you mean by note engraved or lithographed?i dont really get it.Anyway,i heard many people from many other forum says the note colour is variety and it is high posibility the printer forgot to underprint the layer and printing has many process and difference dies, after they have done the outer flame layer dies before the underprint layer dies during processing.I still not very sure if what he says is true or not.Hopefully its true or i need more help from the expert on this brunei note, the note was printed in uk by wilkinson bradbury.

Engraved or Lithographed refers to methods of printing. Personaly, i think lithographed notes lack any artistic quality. But thats just 1 opinion :)

if your note is a variety, i have a ton from Iraq :)

    good luck!

No us notes dont have stuff like this happen, often.... im just saying i dont think what you have is a seperate variety because i have seen the same type of thing on alot of other world notes. Most of those are Lithographed notes though. Iraq was just an example.

Also my comment wasnt meant as an offer to buy or sell :) sorry if it came across that way.

Yup,i saw many iraqi notes with colour missing or variety/error selling on ebay now currently but this notes were not printed in england from what i know.................example an iraqi note with missing greenish blue colour on reserve side showing on the picture below.Unfortunely,i love those east asian error/varieties notes printed in england only.:)

I have just discovered this note has another variety "broken security thread line"(normally is straight line along),Never seen any broken security thread line before if it is a straight line along. So is this considered as a double varieties note?

im just not sure i would call the first item a variety. As for this second item... not sure how the security thread would get 'broken' to begin with. So is it a variety, or post printing damage?! if i were you, i would look into getting a book that deals excluisively with Brunee notes - kind of like what the Friedberg book, or Shultz/Linquist book does for US notes. Alot of world countries have currency books that deal specificaly for their currency, i have 1 for italy and Bulgaria. I can only assume other countires also have a similar book.
