Well, that's the problem. It's so disorganized that there's not a chance of figuring it out on this large of a scale. There's too many individual situations that also change daily and not enough people paid to figure it out and distribute. The timing wouldn't work even if you tried. People are getting hired and fired every day. The only answer is a mass stimulus check in an acceptable amount, that everybody gets whether needed or not. The idea being that maybe some people who don't need it will spend it and stimulate the economy. People who do need it will also spend it right away. A large enough stimulus payment would be the equivalent of many weeks of unemployment up front for those unemployed. But as we're witnessing, the congress in its current form isn't capable of passing something even this simple in a nine month period. Wasn't there an old saying about having too many cooks in the kitchen? lol Kinda what's going on. They've added so many ingredients to the stew that it's no longer palatable and can't be served. Now the mess is sitting in the pot and they've turned off the stove. The "head chef" went home.
Maybe go to senate stock watch. com and see what all these crooks are buying and selling without getting thrown in jail which you and I would! Dems and Rebs. Broke my motto politics/religion but its unreal
The sad thing is most of these senators of both parties are mult-millionaires and $600. to them is pocket change, it's what they spend for lunch
Try Senators board seats to say WTF? No wonders Pelosi said $1200 is crumbs allot of needy people could use those crumbs , not me but millions! New better than responding to politics/religion! I'm done!
The Congress prevents the Treasury from just printing more money. However, physical paper money is meaningless. Fed policy is more important with money supply. Congress also has significant control over this. The $900B number is meaningless. Much of that is money that would be spent anyway. We're currently looking at $130B in stimulus checks for Americans. That's about 0.64% of GDP. Factor in similar spending rates of the prior stimulus and you've got 0.25% GDP spending with much of that being spending that would already happen without the stimulus.
Exactly. While many disapprove of the wasteful foreign spending in the covid bill and its a bad look attaching pork to something so important, the reality is if it doesn't happen in that bill it will very likely happen in another one
If one cent of the stimulus bill includes foreign aid, corporate pork belly funds or one cent to illegal aliens, then they should approve zero. $600 or $1,200 or $2,000 is BS with billions being given to the above three classes. Every single cent of the stimulus should be given to the needy AMERICAN citizens who are suffering through no fault of their own.
If i post something political i get reported and my post vanishes, but this is allowed. No politics must just mean no politics unless it agrees with the Left.
Sorry baseball but it's absolutely true. The dems have been all for giving a $2k stimulus for months and some of the republicans don't want to send stimulus at all. It's been that way all year. $600 was the compromise. Trump broke with the party and is demanding $2k stimulus now and they're still resisting him. So he went back to Florida and there's no bill. That's where it stands this morning.
Enjoy spending my money. If none of you are going to use it for something worthwhile, I’ll gladly have it back.
You must be new to these types of threads lol. It's no secret. The most politically charged posts I have ever seen on this site have consistently been from a moderator on numerous occasions and not only are they not banned but they're still a moderator.
No it's not true at all. The issue has been all the garbage pork attached to it like 10 million for gender programs in Pakistan, payments to illegals and all the foreign aid not payments to citizens. I won't and can't get into any future or respond anymore than that because I am not going to give Jim the Christmas present of having the excuse to ban me
Lol! I'm well aware of all the pork. That's the norm. Essentially, they went ahead and attempted to pass their normal annual budget with all of the regular foreign aid garbage and pork, intact, at the expense of a lesser (aka $900 billion) stimulus bill they've attached to it. They like to do this to use both as leverage for the other, but it ended up shining more light on the normal budget bill that under normal circumstances, nobody would be paying any attention to.
