IMO. This thread would have been a little more interesting if was a "guess the grade" thread.

The rims are chamfered , so not a proof which has right angle rims. Of course , the MS in the grade gives it away. Its a difference in production .

They look great! I sent my first coins ever in to get graded in October, I just decided I had a set I wanted all slabbed / graded, so off to ICG they went. It was a good experience for me, even though It's just a low end SLQ set and some of my coins had been cleaned and / or had issues that I hadn't noticed. Very educational and edifying. I recommend it! I hope it goes well for you!

Dude, you'll be lucky to get 65 on any of those. You threw your money away. I can't believe this isn't some sort of joke. You sent one in with a finger print! C'mon man. All of those are common and minted in the billions. You won't recoup grading costs on any of them. You sent average pocket change in. They're not even above average.

After they come back, you could possibly submit them for one of these:

    Who'd you submit them to?

    Where are the key dates?

Those in the picture aren't even remotely key dates. Those dates were struck by the billions and billions. Please, look up the definition of "key date".

I'm afraid you're gonna get clobbered, at least in terms of money spent for return on investment. Sure, those are nice, relatively high-grade cents, but they're dirt common and essentially pocket change.

But good luck. We'll be waiting to hear what grades you got.

Well, I guess if you consider it that you are paying for an education that may save you money in the future I guess it is OK. When you get them back you may be tempted to not come back with the grades, but please do. Maybe more members can learn from it as well.

Some people learn by listening, some people learn by watching, and some people just have to pee on the electric fence. And, honestly, I wish I could say the couple hundred it probably cost to get those coins slabbed was my most expensive numismatic lesson. I missed a small patch of very light hairlines that basically cost me as much as these coins alone will cost him.

I wouldn't be too hard on the guy. I think he's more of a newb than a troll. We need to encourage newbs, not discourage them like we should the trolls.

I agree with that, too. He’s already gonna get a rude enough awakening from whatever TPG he sent those to (assuming it’s a recognized service and not some fly-by-night slab mill). So I reckon there’s no need for us to rub it in further.

PS- assuming we're not being trolled and this isn't all one big joke, of course...

Oh, man, you just gave me an image of him coming back with a full boat of NNC MS69's and 70s. That would have been an absolutely brilliant troll if it were April 1. :)

Had to admit, I gave a little snort at that one. :hilarious:

Mandy Patinkin as Inigo Montoya in The Princess Bride is probably one of my favorite movie characters of all time.
