You may like the dates but they're not key dates and they're certainly not high grade Lincoln cents at all. Just the same, good luck to you! :D

    You got that right! laughhard.gif

Not to be the bearer of bad news but theres no chance at any of those grades and no MS 70s even exist and there's basically no 69s

Here's an example of what members are saying. A nice 62 year old coin, nor considered a modern coin but definitely newer. That is the price I paid for this coin and I bought it at my local coin dealers. The grading cost were higher than the retail price and a 66 is gem grade, red coloring to boot.

I get what you're saying, and I telling you as someone that really likes moderns and ultra moderns much more than the average collector. There's a reason why those high grades are so expensive, they're almost impossible to find and you really have to know what you're looking at as there is basically no margin for error on ultra moderns. A 68 may be 3 figures and then a 67 is 20 bucks or less

Yeah I completely get what you're saying, but it's still in the billions struck right? I would call those better dates in the ultra modern set, but still not keys. I would say the vast majority of ultra modern sets simply don't have any key dates. Just because the mintage is lower (even significantly so, compared to other dates) doesn't make it a key.

The 2010 P is under two billion and some of the others are just over two billion where the next lowest is over 3 billion so there's a pretty big difference there. You could find even the low mintage ones any time you want online but some of them would be difficult or take a while if you ever found one trying to put together an ultra modern set from roll hunting with how small of a percentage of the total they are.

I would call the lowest of something a key if if it's not really that low. Even in the classic series many things we call keys have much better survival rates, but I can understand the point. There's more grade keys than actual keys for the ultra moderns. That's especially true considering most wont even be nice grades the day the were minted and many that are get destroyed quickly in a cup holder or lost etc.

Despite everything, I respect the hell out of OP for actually doing the dirty and spending a $100+ to get 6 cents worth of coins graded.

the only way to truly learn is to lose a lot of money while doing so

"key date" for me is "oportunity" to make money ... so if i spend 2 or 3 hundred getting this coins graded but only 1 comes with a high grade i could sell that coin for 10 k easily.

That's not what key date means at all though

There's no 10k coins in there, there's not even a 1k or 100 dollar coin. There's one coin that could come out okay such as break even but theres no top pops
