No. The "A" and "M" do not touch. I used to scrutinize how closely spaced these two letters were and it took a lot of squinting! Then I learned a much faster way to tell right away, right here on CoinTalk and it's almost effortless. You don't even need a magnifying glass. Just look at it from a few inches away. If this was a close AM, the "M" would be much closer to the "A" than the "E". In yours, the "M" is right smack in the middle between the "A" and "E". Here's a pic of what I mean. In the lower one, see how "off center" the "M" is? It favors the "A". In the top one, the "M" is nicely placed right between the "A" and the "E".
Your FG is close to the building. But once I learned the short-cut way, I don't even look at the initials anymore. Saves me time and eye strain! LOL.
When will people learn that it doesn't matter whether the AM are touching or if there is a space between them. What matters is, is the space between the AM much smaller than the space between ME, or are the spaces equal. If they are equal it is a Wide AM, if the AM space is noticeably smaller it is a Close AM. The AM DO NOT have to touch.
