I posted this before but since there seem to be a few current complaints about ebay's inaction on reports, I thought I'd do this again, with a few additions. Some of these might be out of date.

While reporting fraudulent listings through the auctions' sites seems not always to work, sometimes talking to an actual person might help. The phone numbers are:

Thanks Carl. Oddly enough, I don't think those toll free numbers will get you in touch with a person anymore. As recent as a month ago they did, but a couple of days ago I tried again and kept getting recordings directing me to specific pages on the website.

I actually got to talk to a drone in Live Chat by lying about my question (I'm still not 100% convinced it wasn't a bot) and they actually refused to give me a customer support number where I could talk to a live person.

I think eBay is in the process of putting up another layer of barbedwire between themselves and their customers.

Let them do as they please. I don't know how their overall numbers are, but I've heard anecdotally that lots of people have stopped selling coins there.

They don't really have a good grasp of customer service concepts. Perhaps I could do some consulting for them...

I was on with ebay in India for almost 3 hours tonite. The girl didn't have a clue..I have been on ebay 10 years with 100% feedback. Up till about a month ago I could call them. now I can't anymore and I have a technical problem, and I need to speak to a live technician in the usa. Its just horrible how they treat there good members.

I've been having a dispute with eBay (is it actually a dispute if it's only one sided?) over a promotional deal for 3 months now, and they continue to ignore me.

The one time I managed to talk to a customer service person (about a month ago) I was asked to send the promotional email I was emailed to their spoof department and someone would get back to me. Well, that was over a month ago and no one has. All my inquiries are responded to with a form letter that has nothing to do with the issue.

The 1-800 number is now suddenly one big voice recording loop directing you to the website, and the person (could have been a Bot) I tricked into talking to me on Live Chat (by pretending to have my account stolen) flatly refused to give me the number of a customer service person.

Maybe I'll try one of the numbers David listed above...

Meg Whitman has not been CEO of eBay for almost a year now. It's John Donahoe.

Meg Whitman has recently been hinting that she may be running for the governor's seat in California after the Terminator's term is up...why would someone, who against all odds, managed to destroy a massive on-line company who held a virtual monopoly in their niche, think that she has the answers to California's financial crisis?

SCHATZY, Your right on. well I finally got thru to the president's office, and they are going to take care of my problem. I have been on ebay 10 years and have 100 % feedback. I would think with that record, yuo could get thru to someone in the USA. Ed

    Wow, congrats Ed...

I guess I should do less complaining and more letter writing! :)
