Now this coin is really different I know more times this is going to be damage from the out side world. I under stand a coin 30 years old is going to go through some things I don't take pictures off every coin that has damage I really take time with these coins I go over and over these coins like what I'm about to post. This is a1970 d coin I know that right off the bat you will probably think PMD I believe that is the word for that trying to learn quick Guy's but leaning the right way I take pride in this hobby. Someone posted the on a site the other day how the process off how a coin is made these coins go through some things it's hard to believe that their is a coin would grade a 70 they go through some things so this coin looks to went through it now the front of the coin itself I though at first it was pmd right off the bat but you really don't know for sure so I turned the coin to the back and that changed my mine about the coin it would take something special to make a coin look like this they have to be a process. For this coin to come out looking like this I don't have no ideal what would make this coin look like this out the mint department so here is the picture off this coin. I really hope that were on the same page on this one if not you have to no why I post this coin it looks so different than any damage I've seen done.
Their no need off saying every little thing is wrong with this coin. My pictures are getting better you can see pretty good every thing is wrong with this coin it took some hits that is pretty cool coin. I've never seen no marking like that on the back off the coin very different from any pmd I've every seen.
That is PMD.. Nothing else. Not a mint error. Take pride in listening to us not in telling us what you think it is. Listen and learn.
I listen to every thing you Guy's say I just thought the way it was damage it could have been something else the other guy ask me why do I keep sending parking lot coins if I really not that crazy if I really thought that I would not make a fool out of my self for real I do it every day making a fool out of my self sending these coins in I was not joking when I said I didn't no what I'm doing when it comes to coins I just took this hobby on.I've not got 30 years in on looking at coins I have 6 months and it shows every day imagine if I knew more about coins than you all guys in 6 months it must be my calling. All I do is look at coins for hours if I'm not looking at a coin I'm reading about theme I eat sleep coins I have dreams about coins who does that. Some times I feel like that some off these Guy's can't wait for me to send in a coin I think people get a kick out of it I'm taking this stuff very serious So if I see something just out it up don't worry about it might be something just making a fool out of my self if this how you Guy's want to make me feel it's working I guess this part off coin hunting cause that is what I get every time I send a Post in.
Tatter - it may have been stated by the senior members already but if you understand the mint/coining processes, you’ll be able to quickly determine whether you have a variety or error coin or a damaged coin. We can appreciate your enthusiasm and if you’re dreaming about coins, then reading about varieties and errors should offer you endless opportunities to learn about process and outputs. As a result you’ll have fewer questions and more answers. Good luck.
Yeah I know I just thought I had something this time the way the marks look on the back got my motor thinking I really had something I don't mean nothing buy what I say it's harmless it's like I've looked a 50 thousand coins and can't find nothing dang this hobby turned into a job believe me I put the hours in every body been telling me I need a red book I'm going to get me one if it will really will help every body said I need one so I'm going to invest in one it can't hurt me or someone else got something else I need to be reading I try to do as much as I can when you Guy's tell I feel like I'm in school and I'm making a F not good I've never failed at anything that I put my mine to it but that could be dangerous to lol.
It's not a job, it's a hobby so enjoy it. It takes years and years to learn about something and coins are leading that. You can spend your entire life collecting coins and still learn about them. Believe me, I've been collecting them for 60 plus years.
That's right! Learning doesn't end until out last breath. The choice we get to make is what it is that we want to learn about. Collecting Nut and others here have nearly a lifetime of learning about coins and coining processes. It's important to note that this isn't a race either. Learn at a pace fitting to the time you want to invest in the hobby. It shouldn't be an obsession and take over your life though. Easier said than done by the looks of the piles of coins I have to go through yet. But investing in your own education about coins, or anything else, is a worthwhile investment. So I'll echo Collecting Nuts comments, enjoy the hobby and enjoy the ride in learning about it.
Slow down a bit. I know that getting "into" this hobby, or really any other, can be exhilarating but if you can slow down to learn about the items it will increase your ability to find interesting things and enjoy the hobby. Some people "jump" into this hobby with ideas of getting rich, which usually won't happen, so they dwindle away and find another interest to pursue. If you are serious, learn first but it's okay to post doubts here and get educated. I think the posts above are pointing you in the right direction.
That's good advice Mountain Man...slow it down so you won't inadvertently pass over something good. I've done it...even with a bit of foresight. Much easier to do if you are moving too fast.
