I have these two pieces that came in a Chinese Coin 'lot' and I cannot find a reference to them in my copy of David Hartill's "Cast Chinese Coins", and nor can I find a reference to them in "Chinese Coinage".
I am hoping that someone who is knowledgeable in this area might recognize them and point me in the right direction, in terms of identifying them.
    TIA

They're pretty cool but it's possible they're fantasy pieces. Often times the Chinese characters used on such pieces are simply made up. I'm not saying this is the case but it's a possibility to consider if you're not finding a reference to them in the literature you've reviewed so far.

I agree that both pieces look like charms.

The first has characters that look a bit like early shang ones. I assume it is a fantasy knife coin.

The second looks like a zodiac charm, but also likely modern.
