Oh boy! So happy with my gift! NOT POSTING UNTIL CHRISTMAS sorry!

Can't wait for the person I got to open theirs, kind of went all out.

Hope its not too overwhelming!!! :) :) <3

2020 has been tough, so I am making it extra special, hopefully you love it, and hopefully it will develop and add to your collection!

So pumped, and to the person who had me! I did already open it, just not posting yet, but I LOVE LOVE LOVE IT! The nickel is amazing, you have no idea how badly I wanted one EXACTLY like it, saw one on r/coins and maybe that was you! BUT Damn, a truly special coin in its own right and something I wanted SO BADLY. The other two coins were amazing too, you gifted perfectly and THANK YOU! Cant wait to post it mwahaha

I received my Secret Santa gift package on Monday, waited and decided to open it a day early - Two nice half dollars, Barber 1914-S and Walkiing Liberty 1939-S plus a 1998 wide A M cent, my first variety coin! Thank you kindly to my Secret Santa - wishing him and his family a joyous holiday season and all good things in 2021 :)
(Forgive the amateurish photos, but I'm working with a flip phone, kitchen table and Bluetooth image transfer to my computer):

I am in the same boat, thinking at this point I will be opening after Christmas, the US mail service is going to be the Grinch this year. :( [IMG]

S.S. has arrived and is taking up temporary residence under the fake-O Christmas Bush. I gotta tell ya, Santa must have gone to 'afterburner' to get this package to me in time for Christmas.........two days ago it was in Tucson. Blessed to be receiving it in time for the appointed day. No photogs till Christmas day.........:)

For the first time in my SS history, I will not be opening my gift prior to Christmas. Thanks to the USPS for the suspense! Im sure it will arrive soon. Was expected yesterday, and is delayed like many others. charlie_nocards.gif

Mysterious package arrive this evening from CTSS. Hmm, wonder what it is? I think I'll wait a couple of days to open. Or I might do it tomorrow night when I do a Zoom Christmas with my daughter and her family. Thanks CTSS, whomever you are.

I couldn't wait and opened mine already!

A note from my secret santa, along with the mystery gift. Let's see what's inside..

For the first coin, I figured Egyptian right off the bat from the design, with 5 as probably part of the denomination, and 1993 as the date. This one took some additional figuring out, but I believe I have identified it:

    Egypt 1414(1993) 5 Pounds (Cleopatra)
    AR KM-735 Proof

And this next one is a coin I know very well, but I actually didn't have an example in my collection before now. I have the full Hungarian modern circulating type set, save for one coin, but I'm very much still working on the non-circulating commemorative set. So, this one goes directly into my type set:

Hungary 1975BP 200 Forint (Hungarian Academy of Science)
    AR KM-605, Adamo-EM47 Proof

Absolutely wonderful silver coins. A great big thank you to my secret santa!

Waited until Christmas Eve to open our Secret Santa gift. A bit of a Christmas miracle that my SS somehow knew that in addition to coins I also collect (or accumulate, rather) old license plates. This will look great next to my Washington DC taxation without representation plate! Love the world silver too!

I'm doing this now since I probably won't remember to do it on Christmas lol. My Secret Santa got me a whole bunch of coins and banknotes, lots of variety like that of my collection. Notable amounts of silver, too! Pics below with my commentary :)

    Thanks Santa!!!

    1904-O Morgan Dollar

    1975-S Proof Set with the 1976 Bicentennial 25C, 50C, and $1.

Some interesting history trivia - if my understanding is correct, there were no "1975" year coins for denominations in 25C-$1. "1976" coins were struck in 1975 and 1976 to celebrate and meet demand for the 200 year anniversary of America's Independence. That makes me wonder if there's a way to tell which ones were struck in 1975 and 1976 (besides them coming in the proof sets lol).

Slightly off center strike, nice subtle toning, and in mint state!

Some older banknotes and one with President Santa on it!
(Sorry for the bad lighting / reflection)

Interesting Sacramento, CA $20 brass exonumia. Will need to look into this further.

I am wondering which text is harder to read (i.e. decrypt ;-) Egyptian or Hungarian...?

My wife is from Hungary, and her Mother just moved from Hungary and is living with us. After 2 years of hearing it daily, the only Hungarian word I understand is 'Nem', which is the word my MIL says most to the dog (it means 'No').

So my vote is for Hungarian!

Probably Hungarian. It's barely related to other modern languages.
