It is equally as rare, just wish it were the Large Brown Seal's...the information on these notes is way too large to post on a normal Thread so a link to the Blog is inserted for your reading pleasure. Kinda makes me feel like I'm doin' something wrong to be able to see such notes together. Like getting caught looking at....LOL
Ruben... Great question, let me see if I can answer that for you! Even back in the 1880's consideration was given to counterfeiting and even well before then! If you look close, you will see two silk fibers that run on a horizontail plane across the note. It looks like a precise micro fold, however, it is not. These silk fibers were impregnated into the note as a security feature of the time. It is one of the things I like most about this series. More to come soon...as the sickness is leaving my body and I will post a synopsis of the features of the notes with the Large Brown Seals! Thank you Ruben for taking interest. Regards, RickieB
The reason I ask is because they have changed the currency to because as a fact enemy governments have been counterfeiting our money, and successfully. I can't imagine that those papers can't be counterfieted. Did you see that movie, the Counterfeiters, a German film. Ruben
GrimReaper... Thank you very much....it has been a very selective process. The $20 will be difficult as only a mere 50 exapmles have been reported. It may take some time, but I am commited to getting that note. Regards, RickieB
Thanks again everyone.... I added the image of the $20 Large Red Seal Note I have of the 1880 Series. I wish it were the Large Brown but it still fits in with the set and Series of 1880. When I get the Brown Seal I will add it in as well. Hope you enjot them all together. Regards, RickieB
