I am pleased to share that I just added this missing link to my Paramount Pictures tokens: Like HK 740, it has the Paramount logo on the reverse. That one has the Maiden, another has a palace, and this one has the ship. Only the Maiden is dated (1941). Does anyone know the symbolism of the ship or the other devices?
Here's a Ben Franklin Token, it's huge being approximately the same size as a Peace Dollar! I added it to my collection as Ben was a huge political force back in his day! Lastly, this Token was made by CH Hanson who is still in business today since 1866. They make tools now!
I had a memory growing up of a medal that my father kept in a jewel box that sat on top of his towering dresser in my parents bedroom. The only time I would go into that box would be to get a key for the front garage door in the rare case that it was locked for some reason so I never looked at it too carefully. My parents moved from New York to Florida in the 90s and I moved into their house in an arrangement that worked best for everyone. I paid rent and kept money in the family and took care of the house. Never thought about the medal and with time assumed it went to Florida with them. I purchased the house in 2008 when my father passed away. Recently I was doing a major clean up of the house emptying out all of the closets and way at the back of one small one with some old reels of photo slides I found that old jewel box. The only thing in it was a bunch of tie tacs and the medal! I'll never know where he got it or why he chose to leave it behind. Looking it up it was a lot more interesting than I would have imagined. To commemorate a Napoleon Museum Visit to view all of the items pillaged by Dominique-Vivant Denon. The Venus of the Medici. Medal by Romain-Vincent Jeuffroy, 1803.
Just posted this in another thread. I purchased it thinking it was the real deal but it turns out that it is a replica. The replica probably scarcer than the real coin and it was cheap so I decided not to return it. From the seller's photo it looked real good for zinc but as it turns out it is probably cu-ni.
These came in today. I thought they were interesting. They are all ~25mm diameter. Top: Full Moon - silver Left: Blood Moon - copper Right: Harvest Moon - Brass Z
Not sure why the color came out different on the two sides. Much more copper as on the snake side than the eagle side. In hand same color....
Nice copper coin there! My camera does tricks with the colors sometimes too. Often it depends on the background.
i actually posted one of these on ebay (they allow exonumia, managed pay-outs wont let us sell till 1/25/21) anyways, it had a 1929 ms-62 penny inside it, but it was an error coin, so i kept the coin and selling the holder... here is the link, if any one wants it..also have other exonumia for sale as well..https://www.ebay.com/itm/393086899866
