I like the obv on this Austrian 1/2Thaler. I sent this coin out two weeks ago, and got it back today as an AU58 from NGC. I'll get a better pic in its new holder.
Very Nice - Amazing detail in the design. Beautiful coin - when/if you take more pics, would love to see them. If you don't mind sharing - how did you come by this coin. I'm really new at world coins and I've been purchasing 10 lb bulk coins, but I've not been finding anything celebrate over.
I have built up a data base of well know and trusted dealers over the years. I buy mainly from them. As for the coin posted, it was one handed down to me from my grandfather over 30 years ago. The coins he had given me, is the reason I became a historian. I will re-post a pic of the coin in its NGC holder before it goes into the Bank safety box. I keep no coins in my home.
Are you sure it’s Austrian? It looks Hungarian to me :smile But I´ve bin wrong before But either way it's beautiful, as Habsburg coins always are :thumb:
