I am terrible at grading, so I will leave that to the grading experts. But I will say that that is a beautiful coin.

I will go AU-58, but if the graders were in a good mood, MS-63. If you are questioning anything about it, I have its twin with more graining. PCGS tells me it has been cleaned, but I am not sure I yet get it.

    Might be a high-end AU.

    Possibly lightly cleaned.
    I can't tell for sure.

    Nice coin.
    Enjoy!

If it is cleaned, someone did an expert job with it. Nice coin. I would go with an MS-60.

My gut and eyes tell me it has altered surfaces.

AU detals, cleaned, net XF. The color on this coin is all wrong -- they aren't bronze or CuNi.

Most of that coloring (or all) is the wood graining.

Let me first say, my lighting is really bright, this coin has defiinately not been cleaned....photo's can be VARY deceiving. I generally prefer strong lighting so that all the hits and wear are brought out for grading purposes. In hand the coin is darker due to the woodgraining but the luster is quite apparent.

I'm going to send this to NGC soon, but I (and the dealer I bought it from) believe it to be MS. If you look at the second obverse picture, you can see there's zero wear on the cheek. I'm not exactly sure where you guys are seeing any type of wear on this coin?

I agree that it is unc. I give it a 62. Nice coin!

Here is the wear I at least think I am seeing.

BTW, that 09-S of mine does not look cleaned to me either, but it did to PCGS.

Hummm...those are definately the typical wear points, but the cheek the usually the first thing to wear, and I don't see wear there in hand.

Thanks for the opinions everyone. I'll see what NGC has to say next....I sure hope they grade it.
