Maybe the couple of contact marks on the buffalo's shoulder. Thats my only guess. Its a stunner in hand
I got this coin due to the toning and condition. The true colors are so hard to capture with just one angle.
Found the 1963 silver dime today in a roll my 3rd silver find for the month so far. I found 5 silver coins last month.
One of many toners I own: If you ever decide that Peace Dollar needs to be rehomed, I'm pretty sure I could make room for it. That's not a WLH. It's an ASE. Mike, you stole that coin! Looking forward to seeing it up on your site. All of those coins are pretty excellent.
I must admit, I was pleasantly surprised by the hammer price. I already have a customer in mind for it, so it may not make it to the site.
Oh, I see. Well, when you finally get it in hand, you should definitely post your own photos of it here. It's really too bad I'm not in a position right now to buy it, otherwise I'd make you a good offer on it. BTW, was the hammer price anywhere near your max bid? I saw it went for barely above Greysheet bid.
I'll try to remember to shoot good photos of the coin for CT. My equipment's not the best, but I may be able to improve upon the Heritage photos by investing more time. My max bid was substantially higher than the hammer. Evidently, other folks were looking for something else that day.
You're overestimating the role of fancy equipment in taking good photos. You do a better job than a majority of sellers out there.
