    I've looked and looked and I believe it's man-made after mint . I just don't see the Blakesley effect .

    @Marites Foertsch

    The Blakesley Effect isn't always visible on smaller clips. This could be a clip, but I can't confirm whether it is or isn't.

    I'm not an expert by I believe it to be a small clip. One that's small enough not to show the Blakesley effect. Tuck it away in a safe place. The correct term would be a rim clip.

    You're in California and it's cold. Come see me in PA. The last 3 nights have been in the teens and twenties with a day time high of 34*. It's a heat wave at the moment as it's up to 38*. Lol

    It's not a Ragged Clip. Looks like a simple Minor Curved Clip. As mentioned before. The Blakesley Effect is not always present on smaller Incomplete Planchets.

    BTW
    Here is an example of a Ragged Clip from my collection -

    The truth is.. Clipped Coins aren't actually clipped. Nothing took a chunk out of it. What really happened is that when the planchet was cut out of the sheet it was to close to the space of the previous planchet that was cut out. The true name of these is actually Incomplete Planchets. Ragged Clips are planchets that were cut out of the very end of a sheet that was torn at some point leaving the torn appearance. Nothing ripped nor tore the planchet.

    Merry Christmas, Marites. Keep your chin up. As long as it can be kept up or down, why not up? That's how I look at it. While it may sound trite, no one can keep you down but you.
